   Samsung is cheaper and have better contrast ratio.

   For the LCD vs. Plasma debate:
   They have about the same picture quality, but if you want to place the TV in a bright room, get an LCD because plasmas tend to attract a lot of glare. If you’re putting it in a dark room, definitely go for the plasma.
   Honestly, I can’t tell much of a picture difference between 1080p and 720p on same brand tv’s, but if you want something for the long run, go for the 1080p. P just means it’s progressive scan as opposed to i which is interlaced. Also, if you want to go all out, get one with a 120hz frame rate.
   As for brands, my favorite in no particular order are:
   1. Pioneer
   2. Sony
   3. Panasonic
   4. Sharp
   5. Samsung

   Panasonic have just released the ‘P42X10′ which is extremely good value for money.
   Full 100hz picture processing and 24p, plus a contract ratio of 2,000,000:1!
   It is also available in 37″ which is cheaper.

   you cant go wrong with toshiba or sony or samsung, try amazon or ebay or any electrical store, my bush lcd tv lasted me 2 yrs its not a very good make. i bought a toshiba 2 weeks ago and the picture and sound it excellent

   buy lcd they last longer than plasma
